G8 Energy is developing a diversified portfolio of battery energy storage projects across New South Wales and other National Electricity Market (NEM) regions, spanning both sub-5 MW hybrid PV & BESS assets and large-scale, transmission-connected BESS developments.

This dual-track strategy allows the business to balance near-term deployment opportunities with longer-dated, utility-scale infrastructure projects that support system reliability and renewable integration.

At the distributed end of the portfolio, G8 Energy focuses on sub-5 MW Hybrid PV & BESS projects designed for faster development timelines, lower grid-connection complexity, and strong alignment with evolving network hosting-capacity frameworks. In parallel, the company is advancing large-scale standalone BESS projects, including multi-hundred-megawatt and gigawatt-scale developments, strategically located near major transmission infrastructure.

These projects are structured to meet institutional investment requirements and are progressed through disciplined land control, planning, and grid-connection strategies to deliver investment-grade, transaction-ready energy storage assets.

Development Timeline

Each project will take around 12 months to be developed, this process will start with the Site selection and will finish with the Project’s Financial Closing. The Development process main stages are:

  • Site Identification
  • Community Engagement
  • Engineering Conceptual Design
  • Development Application Planning
  • Grid Connection Assessment
  • Construction Planning
  • Financial Close of Development stage, project ready to be built.
Lease your land

The Process of Leasing Your Property for Solar

The Solar project development process starts by the identification of adequate sites for the development of the project, which need to be in full compliance with the communities and Councils conditions. G8.will work with you to select the right location on your land and plan the solar farm to minimise the impacts related to the use of the properties, along with negotiation of the lease terms. Then, we begin our development and permitting of the site and regularly update you on the advance of the development’s milestones.

The day construction breaks grounds marks the beginning of an exciting time for you, our partner. Not only is it rewarding to see the results of a few years of hard work becoming reality, but it also means decades of stable income for your future.

Key benefits of our Strategy

  • Represents opportunity for a better engagement and participation of local communities, including the possibility of having local members of the community as shareholders, economically benefiting from the projects.
  • Maximization of Land profitability by combining Rural production with Energy storage. G8 supports specific activities such as sheep grazing and agriculture.
  • The project can store enough electricity to supply the annual electricity consumption of approximately 2 thousand households and displace approximately 8,500 metric tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year.
  • Faster project development and construction times.
  • Lower risks associated to development and construction of the projects.
